In the Laranjeiras neighborhood, where I lived for many years since my school days, the traditional General Glicério street market takes place every Saturday. Even when the family decided to move out of the neighborhood, every Saturday morning we returned to the General Glicério street market to buy flowers and spices, to drink Luizinho’s caipirinha and watch the chorinho music take place. A year later, as expected, we moved back to the Laranjeiras neighborhood, where my parents are still living at.

It was inspired by these pleasant memories that I painted a couple of market stalls.
