I think the most wonderful thing that happened to me in 2017 was joining the team of permanent teachers at the Rosa Vento. This place, run by a small group of three women who are as idealistic as they are engaged into make things happen, aims to offer holistic therapeutic courses and workshops focused into self-healing and knowledge.
At first Rosa was located at the charming Vila do Largo do Machado. But as the project grew, they ended up moving to a bigger house in the Humaitá neighbourhood. Now it was possible to have a room exclusively dedicated to creative activities and that’s how crochet, embroidery and watercolor became essential part of Rosa’s weekly program.
That was the first time I was lecturing to adults, and I was really nervous at my first open class. But I was so lucky to meet incredible people right away who trusted me and my work and signed up for our course, making me a more confident professional and a better person, for sure. I found out that I love teaching and I’m already hoping that, alongside my illustrated projects, I’ll be able to do it forever.
